How we teach
Our teaching team brings together different dance backgrounds, perspectives and ways of learning, while sharing the same approach to teaching Lambada.
In our classes, we want you to learn more than steps and figures. We combine technique, musicality and the character of Lambada to help you develop a deeper understanding of the dance and your own dancing. Our goal is to give you a solid foundation to keep learning, exploring and enjoying the dance.
Meet us on the dance floor!
The best way to get to know our teaching is to join us for a class.
Hellen · Founder & Head Teacher
Hellen is the founder of Lambada Berlin, an international Lambada teacher (follower & leader), community builder, organizer of the Berlin Lambada Festival, and a certified BZDC & LWDC judge.
With more than 800 hours of teaching experience since 2018, she has taught Brazilian Zouk and Lambada across 12 countries in Europe and South America and collaborated with teachers including Pedro Nantes, Ariel Parachin, Rebeca Lang and Wilson Fonseca. In Berlin, she taught regular Brazilian Zouk classes from 2019 to 2023 before shifting her focus towards Lambada and building the current teaching team.
Hellen is known for her concept-driven and accessible teaching approach. Her classes combine traditional movement with practical tools to develop technique, connection and an authentic Lambada feeling.
Karin · Core Teachers Team
Karin’s dance journey began with Standard dance and later expanded to Tango Argentino, Forró, Bachata and Salsa, including Tango training in Germany and Buenos Aires and teaching Forró in São Paulo.
Today, her focus is on Brazilian Zouk and Lambada, which she has been teaching in Berlin since 2024. She trains internationally with teachers including Hellen Schmidt, Ariel and Leticia and draws inspiration from BRIC and MAC methodologies. Her background in Jazz, Contemporary, Reggaeton, Belly Dance and Afro also shapes her movement and musicality. With Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in linguistics and language teaching, Karin brings her passion for teaching to the dance floor. She sees technique as a language: a tool for communication, connection and freedom rather than rigid rules. She teaches both leading and following with a structured, joyful and accessible approach.
Oliwia · Core Teachers Team
